Good Snowballs

Dear Friend,

When I'm doing something for myself alone, it can so often feel like a slog. But as soon as my attention turns outward, something happens.

Good Snowballs.

And suddenly, nothing can stop me.

I am on a mission to start a worldwide movement of visible, abstinence-based recovery, especially in women.

My intention is to get in a van and drive across the United States of America.

Last week it was California. But like all good adventures, this one is going where it wants to go, and California doesn't feel epic enough anymore.

If needs be, can I drive across the middle of America in a snowstorm?

Probably.

Will it be a bit grim at times?

Almost certainly.

But does recovery wait for spring?

No. I feel that I need to go ASAP. I can't sit on this. It feels urgent.

I know that the USA has a big beating heart of recovery, and I can see the warmth I'd get in a snowstorm. This isn't a case of are there women thriving in recovery, it's a case of LET'S SHOW UP and let the world see us.

Last week I put out a reel asking for help with branding, and within minutes an amazing thing happened.

A woman living in New York, with thirteen years of recovery, messaged me and said yes, I can help.

We jumped on a call.

Her name is Rachel. She runs The Good News Studio, and as we talked, it became almost ridiculous how aligned she was with the mission. Her world is human connection, storytelling, mental health and social impact, all the things this movement is trying to bring together.

I said, Rachel, I don't have the money for your elite services.

She waved me off.

Lizzie, I'm all in.

And the work began.

This is what Good does. When we put ourselves in service to something bigger than ourselves, things start moving. People appear. Doors open. Ideas connect. The Universe, God, Love, whatever you want to call the Power back of all life, starts pulling everything towards it.

I still have absolutely no idea how this is going to unfold.

I don't know exactly what van I'm getting or how.

Apparently I don't even know which states I'm driving through anymore.

But I know what I'm following.

And I'm beginning to understand that maybe I don't need to know the how.

All I need to do is keep following the Good.

Because Good Snowballs.

I love you.
I love you.
I love you.

Lizzie
