LOVE

Dear friend,

I’m here to drop some love into your world. Plop!

It’s the 5th of January, and I’m really excited about life today, mainly because I managed to get to sleep before 10 pm, and finally, the sun is shining here in British Columbia, Canada.

I want to reassure you (and myself) that it’s perfectly reasonable to slow down.

It may be the New Year, but we are still in the dead of winter (if you are in the Northern Hemisphere). It’s still a time of releasing, retreating, and reflection.

If you are into Chinese astrology, we are fast approaching the year of the Fire Horse.

I can feel myself ready to gallop, the wind in my golden locks, the ground moving beneath me, the powerful breath moving through my big horse ribcage.

But for now, I must be still because we’re still in the year of the Wood Snake, and I, for one, have had quite the year of facing my poison and shedding old skins.

It was painful, and I am grateful for every minute of it (especially grateful that it feels like it’s coming to completion).

I’m not a religious person, but I am very spiritual, and I love, love, love the Saint Francis Prayer!

It contains within its words the recipe for happiness.
