Starting at the End of The Alchemist
Dear Friend,
Hello from the road.
I’ve started writing letters to myself. I figure if I’m going to throw myself into this adventure, then I’m going to have to cheer myself on from the sidelines.
I write from my higher self. FYI, my higher self is the part of me that is untouched by any earthly drama. It is the eternal part of me that is always connected to everything seen and unseen. It’s my direct line to wisdom, truth and beauty. It never steers me wrong.
My job is to stay consciously connected to this part of me, and I’m on day five of writing letters to myself, from my higher self, and it feels amazing.
This week I attended my uncle’s celebration of life. It was a beautiful opportunity to celebrate him and see my extended family, who I rarely get to see. I travelled there with my dad and older sister and really concentrated on the internal experience.
The gratitude for my dad and all he has done for me through his own journey with addiction and recovery. The humour and laughter, which we have in abundance in our family. The beauty of life and its ephemeral, fleeting seasons that never stop rolling on.
I know I’m on my journey. I know there’s something calling me forward. And what was reaffirmed after the time spent with my family celebrating is that there is never anywhere to be but right here, right now.
And I figure navigating this journey with that kind of wisdom is like starting The Alchemist at the very end of the book.
The treasure is within. There is nothing to seek outside of myself. All that joy is found on the inside.
Thank you for walking with me.
I love you,
I love you,
I love you,
Lizzie
